JAMIE AARON KELLEY

JAK Tokyo Tour Huge Success Includes Christmas Shows

And Heart & Soul of Rock ‘n’ Roll Show

Jamie Aaron Kelley wowed the Japanese fans during his latest spectacular tour!  This time a trip to the island of Hokaido was on the itinerary, something very new for the tour.  This was the venue for a sold out Christmas Show!  Jamie has created a very strong bond with his Japanese fans, but an even stronger bond with the fabulous musicians that he has had the pleasure to work with in Japan .  Each time, they become a better team.  This time, Jamie felt that together they achieved the best yet!!

Following is Fumiko’s review of this fabulous tour:
The December 2008 was a 4th Japan tour for Jamie.  He stayed 2 weeks in
Japan -- practiced with the band, did rehearsals twice that is called
"general probe" (run-through rehearsals) in a rehearsal studio.  And then
performed three different type of shows that were two Christmas shows in
Hokkaido and Tokyo and a new show in Tokyo .  Among the audience of the shows
were people working front in music and entertainment fields, such as music
critics, personalities of radio show, producers, singers and players.  I
have invited these people since his first Japan tour in 2006 and received
comments/opinions from them -- in order for Jamie's future.

JAMIE CHRISTMAS DINNER SHOW IN HOKKAIDO -- Dec. 4
(hosted by Hokkaido Hotel)

A first show for the December tour was "Christmas dinner and show" on
December 4 (Thurs) in Hokkaido , the most north part of Japan .  Tickets were
sold out a week before the show date.
In a huge gorgeous ball room, the stage was constructed (yes,
constructed!), lighting and sound facilities were designed especially for
the Jamie Christmas show!  The show venue was coordinated in red-based color
which really matches with image of Jamie.  Full-service (not buffet style)
French dinner, formal table setting and a memorabilia menu card for each
person.  On the red menu card, Jamie's name and profile and food list are
printed in silver.  People came in the show in jacket and tie, and many of
ladies wore in formal Kimono.  Jamie wore tuxedo!! (Black jacket and pants,
and red shirt and red handkerchief!)   Four musicians wore black shirt,
black jacket, black pants, and red tie!  The chorus group Suite Voice (4
girls) wore one-piece dress, black based and in blue.
After the dinner, the show started with a video that introduces Jamie's
profile. Then the band played "Ren & Stimpy" (opening song of Jamie show).
Right after the opening song,  Jamie jumped in the audience floor from a far
back door of the venue and ran up on the stage.
His first song was Memphis In The Meantime.  In the half of the show,
with the song "Merry Christmas Baby,"  Jamie jumped down from the stage to
the audience floor, and walked throughout the floor.  Jamie shouted the
band, "Keep going,  keep going!"   The band continued playing "Merry
Christmas Baby"  until Jamie finally returned to the stage!   Jamie walked
around 40 tables,  greeted every people (290),  gave flowers to some lucky
ladies and shook hands with gentlemen!!
In the evening of December 3,  Jamie and I (Fumiko) appeared live in the
local FM radio show.  Among the music program of this date,  Jamie and
Fumiko corner was about 30 minutes.

JAMIE CHRISTMAS POPS SHOW IN TOKYO -- Dec. 8
(hosted by Fumiko)

On December 8 (Mon) was a Christmas Pops Show in Tokyo .  The venue "JZ
Brat" is an elegant yet gorgeous club located in a first-class hotel in the
center of Tokyo .  With the same band members and chorus group,  Jamie did
two stages a night.  Length of one stage is little bit shorter than his
usual show.  Particular the second stage which started from 9:30PM ,
audience was soooo excited  and Jamie did encore songs that we had not
planned to do!

JAMIE NEW SHOW WITH 16-PIECE ORCHESTRA -- Dec. 12
"Jamie 2008 Special Japan Tour" -- "Celebrating 25th anniversary from his
debut."   (hosted by Fumiko)

December 12 (Fri) is really a special not only for Jamie, but also the
band and the staff, and of course for audience!  The venue was concert hall
called "Yakult Hall" located in the very center of Tokyo .  One hour before
the time door opens, people made a long line outside of the venue which I
never expected... Because seats are all reserved and they do not need to
come in the venue such earlier... LOL
In this week before Dec. 12,  all the members (Jamie, 16 band members,
and the staff) did run-through rehearsals twice in a big rehearsal studio,
including the progression of the show, with the direction of the
stage-management director.  In the night of one day before the show date,
most of equipment were loaded in the venue, and stage setting was almost
done.  By the way, we made a little higher platform on the stage which are
for drums, strings quartet, and horn trio, so that audience is able to see
all the band members.  Anyway, we were well organized and almost perfect for
doing the show on 12th.
In the show, a first huge appreciation and standing ovation came when the
song "Only You."  Then to "In The Ghetto."  The most exciting came with the
"7 Elvis medley," and the "Mario III" (band introduction) that Jamie himself
did introduce each members and each did solo performance.
Clapping hands and calls of encore did not stop after the last song
"Suspicious Minds" and even the stage was black out.  A stage-management
director decided to do a 'curtain call' and lighting came back on the stage.
Jamie returned to the stage.  And Jamie and the 16 members took deep bow to
the audience, expressing huge appreciation.

Later, Jamie told that the 16 band members was the best one team which he
ever worked with.  Let me tell you who they are:

[Rhythm Section = Main member of the Jamie Japan Team]
* Sackey:  Piano, Synthesizer, and the band master.  He also serves bass
voice as one of backup singer.  Very multi talented!   If you saw Jamie show
in Japan ,  you'd see him playing piano even with his hips and toes!   He
wrote music scores for all parts of musicians and backup singers, and gives
directions to the all members so that everyone was perfect when Jamie
arrives in Japan .  He is a tour member of one of the very big name Japanese
singers, and usually plays at huge venue holding 10,000 people.
* Yasuhiro:  Lead guitar.  Some of you might see him in Las Vegas in August
2008,  but you'd see his real talents if you were in Japan .  He brings 4 -5
guitars for the Jamie show, plays the guitar that best matches the song
(changes guitars from time to time during the show).
* Shige: Drums.  He breathes as exactly the same as Jamie does!!  Very
precise beats!!  Best drummers in the world are Ronnie Tut and Shige, in my
opinion.  He is also a well-known drummer for a famous Japanese singer.
Also a good looking guy... LOL
* Nobu: Bass guitar, Wood standup bass guitar.  He is also a tour member of
a very famous Japanese singer and usually plays in huge venue holding 10,000
people.  Very talented nice guy.
* Teru:  Rhythm guitar.  With him, guitar sound becomes fantastic!  If you
think of James Burton (Yasuhiro for Jamie in Japan ) and John Wilkinson (Teru
for Jamie in Japan ), you'll know what I am talking.

[Chorus = backup singers]
Four girl chorus group called "Suite Voice."  Originally they were in the
musical play and debut as the chorus group couple of years ago.  They do
their own shows 3-4 times a month.  Their songs are used for TV commercial
song, and for TV shows.

[Brass section]
"TKO Brass Trio" -- formed with all male -- Sax (from tenor to bass saxes),
trombone, and trumpet.  Very talented team.  The brass leader is Kentaro.

[Strings section]
"Partie Strings Quartet" -- formed with all female -- 1st violin, 2nd
violin, cero, and viola.  They are originally in the classical music field.
The strings leader is Yuka.

AND a team of very professional staff, we couldn't do the good show.
* Stage management team (including stage artificial setting) under the
director Hideyuki.
* Sound team under the director Kanai.
* Lighting team under the director Numazawa.
* Screen projection team under the director Orita.
* Audience floor, venue security, lobby and guest relationship team under
the leader Miura.
* Producer and organizer -- Fumiko
Total body of the band and the staff was about 60 for the Jamie's new show
December 2008.

Fumiko………From all of the Easterners…..We thank you for everything that you have done in organizing these incredible Japan tours.  You have put much hard work and invested much time.  Thanks to “Elvis Story” we have all become friends with a common interest……….Jamie Aaron Kelley!

JAK Christmas Show Success In Spite of The Weather!!

The show went on!!!!  Snow, Cold, Wind!!! Thinking that only a few hearty souls would show up, Jamie was pleasantly surprised to see a very respectable audience turn out in the worst of conditions!!

Cindi Sissel and Angie Lewis were two of those hearty souls!!  Following are their reviews of the show!

Angie Lewis:

BRRRRR is right! I thought we were going to Northern Iowa , but I swear it was the North Pole!

We drove up Saturday and really didn't have any big trouble, but I was very glad I had a 4-wheel drive truck and an experienced snow-plowing driver to get me there! The roads had some slick spots - and LOTS of cars off in the ditches - but the worst was the wind and blowing snow. Near white-out conditions in many places. But it was SOOOOO worth it! We had missed the last two Christmas shows, last year scared off by the weather - so we were NOT going to miss another!

It was so great to see such a good turn-out...we felt like the 100 or so who made it to the show was awesome, since there were probably 6 or 8 people total in the whole rest of the casino!! It was a very nice casino, as well as a very nice hotel attached. So once we made it up there, we didn't have to go back outside again until it was time to go home.

The show was absolutely wonderful. SImilar in content to thte Big Show that we were so lucky to get to see in Toronto , but more intimate. It was great to see Chris on lead guitar again....he is always so entertaining and what an awesome musician! And then of course Hank! I think the drummer is kind of the glue that holds the band together - and no one could do it better than Hank! A great talent in his own right! And then......tada......OUR JAMIE!!! I've been saying for years, every show I see, he just keeps getting better and better.....and STILL!!! We just LOVE the new mix of songs - always some Elvis in the mix, but so much more as well. And what a wonderful job Jamie does creating his own arrangements of familiar songs. There were a surprising number in the audience who indicated this was their first Jamie show.....and I'm sure it won't be their last!!! Jamie's vocal range and control..... wow .... allow him to do so many different types of songs and make every one of them his own. And when he asked for requests, and did two acapella - wow! You could hear a pin drop! When Jamie sings acapella, you can tell he hears the music in his head, and the way he delivers the song, you can almost hear it too. Well, I could just go on and on!!! Weather or not, it was well worth the trip!!!

It was wonderful to see Toni. I know we were TOLD she was doing fine, but it was great to see with our own eyes that she does indeed look fine! And, yes, Larry, it was good to see you too. And of course Ronda, we love you. It was so nice to see other good friends again too....Ron & Betty, it had been so long ..... Cindi and Nick ..... Hank and Julie and family .....

From Larry!

BRRRRRRR!
Well, we drove up to Diamond Jo Casino on Friday when they said the roads were ice covered. They were not. Pretty clear roads all the way. Picked up Chris from Nashville at the DM Airport too, and roads were fine.
Saturday, high winds, low visibility and a 15 car pile up near Mason City scared the 2 girl backup singers off so they didn't show. But all of the other musicians made it. So we had piano, guitar, bass, drums and us. The show went on as planned. We truly expected 10 people to show up with these weather conditions - high winds, minus 35 wind chill, etc. Well, Angie and John from Council Bluffs made it in, (great to see them again as well as) Puff and Betty Boop from Minneapolis, folks from Kansas City, Boone, Story City and other locations made it in. Actually 2/3rds of the audience were from out of town or state. Several folks who usually come to the Dec. Christmas shows in Clear Lake made it too and said they wouldn't miss seeing Jamie for anything. The hotel was sold out due to the weather. Ron and Betty didn't have a room but the entertainment coordinator, Renee, found them a room at the hotel.
So all in all, about 100 people braved the elements and were all very enthusiastic for the show. Chris on guitar and Hank on drums, always great! The show went pretty good, of course, Jamie did fine as usual. He even through in some requests from the audience like Just Pretend and Solitaire which he did accapella. They loved it!
Then the hard part. Chris had to be at the airport in DM for a 7:05 a.m. flight back to Nashville . SO, after much tribulation and desire not to go out into the night - we decided to try to get him there. At midnight , we left but we had an escort. Two of Jamie's fans who live in Madrid Iowa, south of Boone, Barbara and Ernie Bruster, offered to give up their hotel room and follow us back to Boone. They had a four wheel drive pickup, chains, etc. I hated taking them up on their offer but if we got stuck or went off the road, we could not walk anywhere with -35 wind chill. It could have been very serious. Ernie was hoping to have to do some snow removal which he does with his truck when he got home. I just hope he had some to do to make up for the $100 hotel room he gave up. The roads were in pretty good shape coming home except for some blowing areas that weren't quite white out areas but close. We could have made it without them behind us but we never knew what it was like. Not a lot of traffic out there that time of night and several cars in the ditches. So we are very grateful to them for such a tremendous offer - great people and we commend them highly!!
We slept for about 2 hours at home and then had a bite to eat and took Chris to the airport. Went back home and just got back up (a truck hit me I think, or some large object) when my Grandson called. Jamie is heading home from up there now during the day light hours.

From Cindi:
Well It has NOT warmed up!  It's  -12 (that's without the windchill), but it's suppose to warm up to 4 above.

It might have been cold and snowy in North Iowa Saturday night, but the Event Center at Diamond Jo's Casino was hot and hopping!

The food was much better than anything we had at Clear Lake .  The tables were small intimate groups of eight. This made for great conversation.  It's funny to talk to people who have never seen Jamie.  I was in the dinner line explaining that I drove/flew/drove out for the Beaver Creek concert and she said he must be good.  Then after the concert, I asked "what did you think?"  She said she thought Jamie was wonderful and I saw she had his new cd in her hand.

It was so good to chat with the fan club members that braved the winter weather for the show.  Chris was in great form.  He was very animated and the guitar was rockin'.  Hank (my favorite drummer) was awesome as always!  Jamie had the whole crowd in the palm of his hand form the beginning when he came out singing Memphis in the Mean Time.  When he did the acapella songs, Solitare and Just Pretend everyone melted like butter.  Jamie's memory of Elvis songs is so great and when he sings them acapella it just floors the crowd.  Jamie sounded absoluely perfect the whole night long.  There was a perfect mix of songs including Christmas songs.  Yes Fernette, he sang Blue Christmas.

Nick thought this show was the the best he had ever heard Jamie, and he loved watching Chris and Hank.

JAMIE AARON KELLEY SUMMER 2008 TOUR SUPER SUCCESS

The Summer of 2008 will go down in Jamie Aaron Kelley history as a mega success.

From Windsor to Collingwood, Canada, from Colorado to Las Vegas to Memphis and then on to The Chicago White Sox…..this has been a whirlwind summer tour for Jamie Aaron Kelley.  The absolute culmination will be the debut of his all new show in Toronto, Canada in October and then his fourth tour in Tokyo, Japan in early December.

Already scheduled for May 2009 is a return to New Jersey after an absence of three years since his blockbuster three month sold out “Elvis Story” engagement at Harrah’s Casino Hotel.  Jamie will be returning with his “Celebration of Rock ‘n’ Roll Show” at the Frank Guaracini, Jr. Fine and Performing Arts Center Theater in Vineland, New Jersey.

Wherever Jamie goes, so go his fans!!!  Jamie’s fan club is very active and is always well represented at his events.  His fans eagerly attend the concerts and have shared their thoughts by writing reviews.

  Beaver Creek, Colorado

 July 12, 2008

The JAK show in Beaver Creek, CO was definitely Rockin' and Rollin' in the Rockies!

The setting was a picture postcard setting.  In the background was beautiful mountain ski slopes and gorgeous chalet designed shops.  The sky was a clean pure light blue backdrop.  Fans from Denver, Missouri, and Iowa made the trip for a fantastic show.

Jamie came out in his white jacket, shirt and black pants (no they were not leather).  His blue eyes stood out very distinctly that night.  The crowd was putty in his hand.  They were very impressed with the Elvis songs he did.  Jamie did announce that he was not an Elvis impersonator, or a tribute artist, but no one could miss the similarities.

The Sun medley with several Johnny Cash songs was a popular favorite among the crowd.   C'mon Everybody had great crowd participation.  There were several small children (5 years and younger) who got up and danced in font of the crowd.  One little guy had the hip movements down cold!

The Jordanaires were great back up especially on the songs from Jamie's CD - Unfinished Business.  They did one of my favorites from that CD - Poor Man's Gold.  This is a song that Jamie does not sing often in concerts, so it was even more memorable for me.  After Peace in the Valley (yes, brought tears to my eyes) the Jordanaires sang Lee Greenwood's Proud to be an American.  This brought the crowd to their feet.

The Band included Hank-drummer from Iowa, Bill-base player from Canada, Chris-Guitar player from Nashville, and a local sax player and keyboard player.  Both Angie and Emily from Boone were back up singers.  You would have thought the group had played together for years.  Bill did a wonderful job with the musical arrangements again.

Jamie could have done a encore, the crowd was very enthusiastic.  As always Jamie met the crowd took pictures with the fans and signed pictures, Cd's and flowers.  Yes, he gave out those beautiful signature flowers to the crowd.  Each person was greeted as if they were his most important fan.  Larry, Toni, Fernette, and Ronda help sell souvenirs.

Following is Ronda’s Review!

Re: Collingwood Weekend Review!

Hey Everyone!

Jamie was a hit in Collingwood! Many new fans met him, and so many
ladies were just so taken with his gorgeous blue eyes, and his
wonderful smile, and warm personality! We had SO much fun !!!!

It was wonderful to finally meet Bev, and I very much look forward to
seeing her in both Las Vegas and in Toronto in October.

We had a new Banner made with the JAK logo on it, and "Jamie Aaron
Kelley - The Heart & Soul Of Rock 'N' Roll" on it. It was perfect as
a backdrop at Jamie's booth at the festival which he shared with the
Love For Elvis Fan Club (MUCH Thanks to Nella & Brian!!!). The banner
was also used in the parade as you will see in Bev's photos.
Unfortunately for the first time in Collingwood Elvis Festival
history, it was "raining on our parade" - although Thankfully it
stopped long enough for us to get through the parade route. We were
VERY lucky, as we had just enough time to get to the end of the
parade route, and get off the flatbed truck - and we took shelter -
and then it DOWNPOURED! And I mean downpoured!!! I felt so sorry for
the others in the parade who were still behind us!

The promotion went very well over the weekend for the Toronto show.
So many more people now know about Jamie, and there was quite a buzz
going around all weekend of people talking about the show! Many
tickets were sold over the weekend, and many more since then as a
result of the publicity at the festival.

All day Friday, Saturday & Sunday the sound people were kind enough
to play Jamie's CD's in between any live acts they had - and it was a
HIT! It was so much fun to watch people walking by the booth dancing
along with Jamie's wonderful vocals and musical arrangements. Not
surprisingly, when people approached the booth and we told them it
was Jamie's CD's they were playing they were shocked - they thought
it was "Elvis" singing - and they weren't even "Elvis" songs!!! :)
Imagine their surprise !!!!

A highlight of the weekend for most of us are the late night (or
early morning...depending how you look at it! LOL) "jam" sessions at
the local coffee shop called Tim Hortons. On Saturday night there
were many Elvis fans there, and Jamie along with Patrick McGuire (who
is a bass singer, and actually was on the road with JD Sumner for a
short time before he died) started singing Elvis Gospel songs. Let me
tell you it was INCREDIBLE - moments that give you "goose bumps" !!!
Soon Patrick's wife Aline joined in the sing-song, who is an amazing
Soprano singer (she & Patrick met at Church where they were both
involved with Music), and then friends of ours: Ben, Marcus, Corny,
Paul & Ben's Mom (also an amazing female voice) joined in. They
sang "Sweet Sweet Spirit", "Why Me Lord" (with Patrick's deep voice
doing JD's parts on all!) and many, many more. Then they got into
different songs from the Million Dollar Quartet Sessions etc.
Needless to say we didn't get to bed very early, and in fact we were
there at Tim Hortons, along with many Love For Elvis Fan Club
members, and many other patrons until after 4am. So...we didn't make
the Gospel Service the next morning - but we sure had "Church" right
there at Tim Hortons!!!!

Wish so much you all could have been there....but through this
summary I hope it helps you all to know what took place over the
weekend!

As Bev said Jamie had the chance to take the stage on Friday night to
do a few songs...very impromptu....and the crowd went wild! :) And it
was so much fun being up there while Jamie was doing the song "I Can
Help", and showing the crowd the dance the British Elvis Fan Club
started. Fumiko - I missed having you there with us up on stage doing
it too !!!!!

I look forward to seeing many of you at Jamie's upcoming shows in
Vegas, Memphis & Toronto !!!!!

Take Care Everyone !!!

Smiles,
~ Ronda ~ :)

BTW Jamie looked and sounded awesome as usual in Collingwood.  I got my newsletter there too... hand delivered!!! so now I feel real special.  Every time I saw Jamie he was surrounded by people talking to him or waiting to talk to him.  I even saw one strange woman getting his autograph on her poodle skirt..... OMG hold on that was meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!  It was wonderful to finally meet Ronda & her Mom and Nella and I met a Jamie fan I didn't even know was a Jamie fan.  It is a wonderful world out there if you are an Elvis or Jamie fan for sure.

See you in Vegas in a week......... oh man I am getting too old for all this travel but I am sure having Jamie fun while I can.

Huggssssssssssss,  Bev

 Jamie in Las Vegas!!!

I have always been hooked on Elvis’ gospel music.  From the first time that he sang “Peace in the Valley” on the Ed Sullivan show ~ way back when~ I felt that he was a truly spiritual person.  That being said, I was really looking forward to enjoying the Imperials in Las Vegas.  And for them to be appearing with Jamie, was the icing on the cake!!

On Friday evening, The Imperials came out and shared their Elvis heritage with the audience.  The beautiful blending of their voices was thrilling.  It was so special to see them up close and personal.  It amazes me when I think about how they interacted with Elvis and he actually sat around and talked to them, joked with them and, of course, blended his voice with theirs.  Just awesome!  I did expect them to perform a little longer.

THEN……….when they left the stage….Jamie was introduced by the radio host from Elvis Radio, Steve Christopher.  Out Jamie came to the beat of “Memphis in the Meantime”!!!  I think this song has #1 hit written all over it!!  Jamie lights up the stage.  His smile and body language is incredible.  He owns the stage!!  When he did “For My Heart”, I think my heart actually melted on the falsetto.  In truth, I think Jamie’s falsetto is better than Elvis’.   Jamie had fun with ‘Come What May’ and the ‘Sun Medley’.  The CD that Jamie is putting out in October should be fantastic.  His versions of ‘Honky Tonk Song’ and ‘Knee Deep in the Blues’ are just wonderful and will be on the new CD.

I really love it when Jamie does the ‘not so well known’ songs like ‘I’m Leavin’’.  It was absolutely beautiful.

Then the Gospel began!!  Jamie brings tears to my eyes when he shifts into Elvis mode for Gospel.  Elvis is truly flowing through Jamie’s veins.  ‘Stand By Me’ was fantastic.

The highlight for me was the blending of Jamie and the Imperials on two songs sung acapella style.  The story was told of how Elvis would go to the Penthouse after a show and to relax would sing Gospel with the Imperials for as long as it took for him to relax.       Well, Jamie astounded the Imperials with his Elvis interpretation of ‘I, John’ and ‘Bosom of Abraham’.  If you closed your eyes……it was Elvis harmonizing all over again with his Imperials.  The proof of how incredibly perfect this was, was the expressions on the faces of the Imperials.  When Terri and Joe actually put out their hands to shake Jamie’s hand….goose bumps covered my body.  During most of the songs that the Imperials sang with Jamie, their faces told the story.  Especially, Terry Blackwood, seemed to be very enthralled with Jamie’s talent and ability to interpret Elvis’ songs with such believability.   Joe, just watched Jamie and smiled…..a lot!!!!

To watch the Imperials standing behind Jamie while he played the keyboard was awesome!  ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ was pure genius!    Another highlight for me was ‘Reach Out to Jesus’…….I could listen to Elvis sing this for hours…….Jamie doesn’t miss a beat when singing this one!  Close your eyes…….well you know what I’m going to say!!  And of course, the show stopper, standing ovation getter, tear maker…..’How Great Thou Art’….again pure genius!!  Talent like this only comes along sparingly.

Jamie’s ability to interpret  Elvis’ songs is incredible.  And what is so notable is the fact that Jamie does this with no forced effort.  This is ‘natural’ Jamie in his element.  No gimmicks, just pure talent.  Jamie has conquered the guitar.  ‘Baby, what you want me to do’ is proof of this!!  Since ‘Elvis Story’, Jamie has become very proficient on the guitar.    Ending the show with ‘Funny How Times Slips Away’ and ‘Suspicious Minds’, the show came to a close much too soon.

The Saturday show used the same song list and format, except for a completely incredible version of ‘Unchained Melody’ with Jamie on the keyboard.  The emotion from Friday night carried over to Saturday night and Jamie’s performance was absolutely awesome.  The energy level was higher….if that is really possible.  The band was incredible.  There are no better musicians that I have witnessed.  Each band member seems to strive to reach his personal best and they play off of each others and Jamie’s energy.  I have seen Jamie in “Elvis Story”, Clear Lake, Memphis, Gatineau (Canada) and now in Las Vegas and I have to say that the performances in Las Vegas were the best I have seen Jamie deliver.  Jamie has a confidence and self assuredness that only comes when a performer has become one with his music.  The culmination of excellence for these two shows was evident in the final song on Saturday evening.  This was by far the BEST, most exciting version of ‘Suspicious Minds’ that I have ever seen Jamie do!!  Every beat, every note, every move was perfectly orchestrated and became an example of rock ‘n’ roll….poetry in motion!!

At breakfast on Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of spending a little time with Terry Blackwood.  Our conversation naturally turned to Jamie.  It needs to be remembered that the Imperials are famous in their own right, as well as through their association with Elvis Presley.  Terry was openly impressed with Jamie’s performance and wanted to know everything he could about what Jamie has accomplished. As a Jamie fan, this made me very proud and I was honored to explain what “Elvis Story’ was and to be able to tell him some of the wonderful stories about the show and the fans in Atlantic City, NJ.

Also, the gentleman who announced the show from the radio station, remarked to me that normally he introduces the performers and then leaves.  Well….not this time!!!  He stayed until the end on Friday evening and I believe he also stayed on Saturday evening.  Talk about being impressed!!

  Las Vegas………..Jamie Rocked and Conquered!!!!

Barbara Garton

  Memphis Report

Memphis - a very confusing time dealing with the Delta Kitchen setup but the house band did a pretty good job on most of the songs for the show. Jamie did a lot of different types of Elvis songs and some of his own including some of the tunes in his upcoming NEW CD in October. The crowd loved it! Jamie loves doing the more obscure songs and the fans that night appreciated that. They heard songs they just haven't heard since Elvis did them.

Afterward, he went down to the Blues Cafe where the Dempseys were playing and sat in with them. When I arrived there at midnight, the crowd was packed in there!! In fact, the outside speakers were on and you could hear Jamie and the band quite well outside. A ton of people were also standing outside and watching him thru the open door way to the bar. Jamie was truly into his 'Elvis element' that night!! The band played hot and the more the audience responded, the more Jamie gave. If those in the audience didn't feel like they were experiencing what it must have been like back in 1955/56 with the real thing, I would be surprised. One guy even walked up to the stage and said, "Elvis is Back!!" as he shook Jamie's hand!

I could see the faces of everyone in the place and their eyes were glued onto Jamie and the band. Like I said, the Dempseys always seem to play even better when he's on stage with them. They know he knows the music so well that they too have to perform to their best to match it.

Once in Tupelo two years ago, someone in the audience commented that the Dempseys seem to sound better upon backing Jamie than for the others who were there. That again is because he knows the music so well that they too have to be playing up to that level and they love it when he's on stage with them. It's like a challenge.

A smaller crowd was at Graceland than normal for Elvis Week. Rain almost cancelled the Candlelight service but it quit a half hour before the ceremony and the stayed away the rest of the time. Beautiful weather all week there this year. Not so hot, warm but not hot.  Highs mainly in the 80's compared to 100+ last year.

Went to the Shell and took pictures and video of the new setup. Very nice, clean, it will be great, more modern than before but still state of the art in video and sound and well managed. They hope to have construction done by the 20th of this month and then reinstall the sound/lights/video. One month of entertainment is already set for September and then they close it down until Spring. Look for Jamie to do something there, special, next Elvis Week. More on that later.  I'll send out video in the next day or two on the Shell so you can all see it.

All in all, a very good week or I should say, very good two weeks.

Chicago White Sox “Elvis Night At The Ballpark

Returned late last night from Chicago. Spent Saturday going to see

Walter Payton's Roundhouse Restaurant and Museum in Chicago

(Aurora). Very neat place and a wedding was going on in the

courtyard of the Roundhouse.

The White Sox personnel said that Friday night's National Anthem

was the best ever!! They were wowed. Also, he performed Jailhouse

Rock on the Sox dugout with several dancers dressed in Jailhouse Rock

outfits - as was he. It was on Comcast Chicago sports channel. When

he was singing in the stadium after the game he was walking past a

guy who was on TV doing a report on the game, he had to laugh. Then

Jamie moved away from him.

The Sox are already working on ideas for next year with Jamie.

Pretty cool when they are asking us for ideas.

The gals who wore the Vegas outfits for the last song of the night

with Jamie, doing Viva Las Vegas as the night was called Viva

SoxVegas, were professionals from Chicago and they want to do more

with Jamie, too. His own Dancers better get in shape in order to

compete. lol

They treated us fantastically!? The last part of the night, Jamie's ear monitor plugs (so he hears the music and not the stadium echo) went out which forced him to try to sing with the music he could hear which is very tough to do as the sound is a half second delay when it comes out of the stadium speakers.?? The Dancers were impressed that he made it thru that.?

I had the pleasure of riding up to my stadium seat with John Cusack (actor) and the Stanley Cup in the elevator.? Not the fans elevator but the priority people's elevator.? Cusack had his 2 daughters with him, at least I assume that's who they were - young kids.?

The Sox even built a permanent entertainment stage at the gate instead of having a portable one. The owner of the White Sox discussed ideas with Jamie on Friday night after his performance. Prior to the game, the area where he performed was hugely packed with people and they didn't leave until he was done. In fact, they had a Marilynn Monroe gal come up to perform right after stadium! She had only a handful of people to perform for. It just cleared out quickly!

JAMIE AARON KELLEY AND BOONE, IOWA
FEATURED IN NEW FILM, ‘AN IDEAL LIFE’

With Boone, Iowa as the setting, “An Ideal Life” premiered on March 31, 2008 at the Boone Theatre. This was preceded by a Premier Dinner held on March 28. The film Premier was attended by Jamie Aaron Kelley, his family and friends.

Jamie’s original songs were used as part of the musical score for the movie. “For My Heart” opens the film with several exterior shots of this pretty, little, midwest town of Boone. “You’re Mine Tonight” , a fun upbeat song, is played with the ending credits. “Your Mine Tonight” was named the top Rockabilly song of 2006 by the JPF Music Awards. While the audience entered the theatre and waited for the film to begin, footage of Jamie performing in concert was shown. Boone is Jamie Aaron Kelley’s hometown and that of Wes Worthing, the lead actor. This film is completely filmed in Boone and is the story of a man at his lowest point in his life. It could be said that it is a test of life for him and his family. Divorced, his daughter hates him and on top of that he hasn’t worked in weeks, sums up the life of the main character. Upon discovering a “magical video camera”, he realizes that the camera records ‘real life’ but plays back his ‘ideal life’. Eventually, the camera’s ‘ideal’ characters begin to show up in his real life and from there the movie unfolds.

From here, the film will go to the Fleur Cinema in Des Moines, Iowa for one showing on April 15. As for nationwide distribution, it remains to be seen.  The movie is available online.

Congratulations to Jamie Aaron Kelley, Wes Worthing and all those involved in making this enjoyable, entertaining film possible.

An Ideal Life-Boone Premier March 31, 2008

An independent film to highlight Boone, Iowa and its talented actors and musicians!!

The movie begins with Jamie's song "For My Heart" and various scenes of Boone, Iowa and Boone county. The
movie is based on a down and out actor, his daughter, and the actor's agent. In the beginning of the film
the actor is seen eating breakfast food and drinking Black Velvet.

The agent wants to update the actor's video portfolio.  When the agent and the actor review the video tape
they see the "Ideal Life" for the actor and anyone who is taped.

Through viewing the tape the actor, his daughter, and the agent and a bounty hunter see how changes in their
lives can make each a happier person.  The humor is of a British type and for those who have
not been to Boone, it shows a typical small town in Iowa.

The movie ends with Jamie's own Your Mine Tonight and  a bit of unexpected humor.

All at the movie had a great time and got to mingle with the director, actors, Jamie and the other composer for the movie.

The movie is 1 hour and 40 minutes long and a definite must for any Jamie Fan.

Jamie Aaron Kelley "Elvis Story" Star Steers Career In Different Direction
by Barbara Garton

Jamie Aaron Kelley, entertainer extraordinaire, has thrilled audiences with his flawless ability to portray Elvis Presley. Jamie has matched Elvis' voice, moves, look, charisma and incredible stage presence down to every minute detail. Rising to the challenge of "Elvis Story", Jamie surpassed all expectations of bringing Elvis to life through the '50's, '60's and '70's! Playing to standing room only audiences in the venue of Harrah's Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey...Jamie was the talk of the town with the hottest ticket in town!!!

This was the summer of 2005. After a highly successful engagement of "Elvis Story" in Gatineau, Canada in 2006, Jamie made the decision that he would move in the direction of a solo career. As an entertainer, Jamie is the ultimate performer with charisma to spare. His genre of music stretches from Rockabilly to Rock and Roll, from Elvis to Dean Martin and includes songs that he has written himself. Currently he has four CDs to his credit. Two of these CDs, 'The Sun Also Rises' and 'The Sun Also Rises Volume Two..Memphis Fire', were recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. "For My Heart" and "You're Mine Tonight" are original songs written by Jamie and are both on "The Sun Also Rises". "Unfinished Business" was recorded in Nashville, TN and features The Jordanaires, 'Boots' Randolph, D.J. Fontana, Millie Kirkham, Bob Moore, David Briggs and 'Buddy' Harman. If you are an Elvis fan, then you recognize these names as Elvis' musicians and backup singers. "Unfinished Business" was recorded the old fashioned way....everyone in the same studio, at the same time, recording together. As Jamie put it, "Most of these people have worked together for over forty years, so I'm very honored that they wanted to be a part of this project, and quite honored to be in their presence.". Together they produced fantastic versions of "I'll Walk Alone", "Return To Me", "Don't Forbid Me", and "Poor Man's Gold". These CDs were followed by Jamie's first live CD....."Jamie Aaron Kelley,The Heart and Soul of Rock-n-Roll.....The One and Only.....Jamie From His First Japan Tour". This CD showcases what Jamie felt were the best performances from the Tokyo live shows in September 2006. A DVD of the September 2006 tour was also produced. Since then, Jamie has returned to Tokyo for a second tour. This time his tour included a special re-creation show of a Las Vegas performance by Elvis in August 1969. Again, Jamie delivered the Elvis magic and charisma down to each laugh, grin, note and move. In addition, Jamie performed shows on this tour that highlighted his own style, offering his renditions of "You're So Fine", "Lovesick Blues" and "Mess Around". 2008 will again see Jamie in Tokyo...not once, but twice this time around, again affording Jamie's Japan fans a chance to experience Jamie and his incredible own style.

As for appearances here in the U.S.A., Las Vegas will be Jamie's next stop. Appearing with the Imperials, Jamie will perform two shows at the Cannery Casino Hotel on August 8 and 9. These shows will spotlight many of Elvis' songs, sung as only Jamie can do them. Following this engagement, Jamie will travel on to Toronto, Canada for the World Premier of his new show..."The Heart and Soul of Rock 'N' Roll" featuring his 19 piece orchestra ensemble and an immersion into the sight, sound, and feel of music. This performance will be held at the John Bassett Theatre on October 25th, 2008. This production is a mix of new and old and offers a unique experience for its audiences. There will be an ever-changing backdrop on a huge wide screen that will use special lighting to immerse the audience into the Jamie experience which includes a variety of moods and styles combined with audience participation. Music selections will include songs by artists who were influential to Jamie, such as...Hank Williams, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Sam Cooke, Marty Robbins and Elvis Presley to name a few. All songs sung in the show will be performed in Jamie's own style, which is a blend of classic music sensibilities and modern music production ideas. This combination gives a powerful face-lift to the older styles while keeping what made those styles timeless.

Jamie Aaron Kelley...on stage....is an experience. As for the audience, there is a feeling of the music touching your soul, electricity in the air, total involvement in Jamie's performance and a connection with his overpowering charisma.....to say nothing of his million dollar smile! Once is not enough........this is pure, exciting entertainment! Jamie is a breath of fresh air in today's entertainment industry and performs 'live', no gimmicks. His appeal touches all age groups which makes him undeniably a must-see and see again entertainer. When Jamie is on the stage delivering his talent and charisma, the audience cannot help but have smiles on their faces and cannot keep their hands from clapping.

In order for fans to keep up with the pace of Jamie's career, there is a Jamie Aaron Kelley Fan Club based in Iowa. This fan club now boasts fans from Europe, Japan, Canada and America. Jamie's fans think nothing of packing a suitcase and jumping on a plane for the opportunity of enjoying one more show!! The Fan Club can be contacted through King of the Hill Productions at kingofthehill@mchsi.com or barbandelvis@comcast.net . 4th Annual Clear Lake Iowa Christmas Shows Welcomed in the Holiday Season!!

Well, Mary Ann and I are back from Clear Lake, Iowa! Boy…….talk about getting snowed in!!! It was COLD…..SNOWY…….ICY……..WINDY……but Jamie warmed our hearts with two smashing “Heart and Soul of Rock And Roll” shows!

Jamie Aaron Kelley was AWESOME!!! Friday night’s show was fabulous…..but Saturday night’s show was unbelievable…..fantastic……incredible…….(I think you get the idea!!) Jamie hit the stage rockin’……and never stopped!! This year’s show contained much more Elvis Christmas music, sung as only as Jamie can. You would think that these songs were written just for him. His voice was so beautiful on “White Christmas”, “On A Snowy Christmas Night”, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. But….he really rocked on “Santa Claus Is Back In Town”!! He introduced several new songs that were big time winners! “Knee Deep In The Blues”, “Keeper of the Key” and “All I Ever Need Is You” were fabulous. My all time favorite new song was…”Memphis In The Meantime”….what a great song with Jamie’s fantastic moves!!! The show was a great mix. Of course, “Your So Fine” with his backbend to the floor wowed the audience….how does he do that????? There was so much talent represented by the band members. Hank, from Boone, on drums…..Bill from Canada on bass fiddle (Elvis Story), Scott, from Minneapolis, on guitar….and Clay Rigdon, from Nashville and back for his third show, on keyboard. Clay also treated everyone to his Jerry Lee Lewis and Buddy Holly. The Grundstad Sisters, from Boone, opened the show and were Jamie’s backup singers for the entire show. Those of you who went to Memphis will remember them from the E.P. Delta Kitchen shows during Elvis Week.

Even though the weather was very bad on Saturday evening, there was a large crowd and they were really into the show. Cindi, our honorary Easterner from Iowa, organized one great party after the show. Jamie, Toni and Larry attended, as did Clay, Hank and Bill. The food was fantastic. Cindi presented all fan club members with gifts. Thank you, Cindi!

Thanks to Larry, on Sunday those of us who were still in Clear Lake were treated to Jamie’s Japan ’69 Elvis Re-creation Show!! WOW!!! Jamie did one spectacular job!! From his make-up to his outfit….he was Elvis!! He re-created the show down to each laugh, breath, joke, stammer, and move that Elvis did!! Most of all…..he sang each song as Elvis did! He interacted with his audience…just as Elvis did!! There is no question, Jamie Aaron Kelley is phenominal! This show was a stroke of musical “genius” on Jamie’s part!! The band was incredible….such talent! This was an amazing experience!! Thanks to Fumiko Nakajima and her staff, this was an experience to be remembered always.

NEW SHOW…….HEART AND SOUL OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!

There has been a change of date and place for the debut of Jamie’s new show. As of now, the show will be in Toronto, Canada sometime in July 2008. This will be followed by a show in Des Moines, Iowa. Since Toronto is a bit closer for us Easterners……one hour plane flight…..hopefully more of us will be able to make the trip. This will also give us more time to save up our money!! LOL If we form a large enough fan group, and all take the same flight, we might be able to get a discount. Please be thinking about making the trip. There is always a block of rooms set aside at a chosen hotel with a discount. This will be the show NOT TO MISS!!!!!! As information is made available to me, I will pass it along. I can’t stress enough the importance of this new, big show. This is an event that all of Jamie’s fans will want to be part of!

We will have one get-together before the first show. This will probably be in May, before the summer crowds arrive in Atlantic City.

So, wishing you……..MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR…….HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!

JAMIE AARON KELLEY TAKES TOKYO BY STORM WITH TWO
FANTASTIC "HEART AND SOUL OF ROCK AND ROLL" SHOWS AND
A RECREATION OF ELVIS' AUGUST 21,1969 LAS VEGAS CONCERT

The Japanese Jamie Aaron Kelley fans were in Jamie heaven in November.  Jamie performed two fantastic "Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll" shows.  But, the most highly anticipated show was the recreation of Elvis' August 21, 1969 Las Vegas Show.  Jamie performed this show down to each breath, sigh, syllable, song, and movement.  And in addition to this, he sang every song just as Elvis did to the delight of everyone in the audience.  Those in attendance could not believe the talent that Jamie possesses when it comes to re-enacting Elvis on stage.  Jamie is an accomplished actor when he portrays Elvis, down to each mannerism and voice inflection.  There is no one better!!

Following is one of several reports on the Japan shows that were shared with the members of Jamie's East Coast Fan Club.

=============================================================================

Each and every one of us, as Jamie Aaron Kelley Fans, should be so pleased and proud with the outcome of this tour!!!  Jamie has succeeded in establishing that he is the ultimate entertainer!!!  No matter whether he is portraying Elvis, as only Jamie can do it, or wowing an audience with his country, rockabilly and rock and roll………Jamie is tops in his profession!!  Our efforts now need to be focused on bringing Jamie back to Atlantic City with his own show.  For our part, I feel we need to spread the word, remind the casinos that they are missing out on someone very special and actively campaign for new members in our group.  Speaking of membership…please make sure you are up to date with your membership and please think seriously of attending the debut of Jamie’s big show in April.

Final Report:

Tuesday found Jamie at the U.S. Military Base in Tokyo, where he did an interview with “Stars and Stripes Magazine”.  This was followed by a Japan Fan Club Get-Together where everyone had a blast!  This was held in downtown Tokyo, where private Karaoke rooms can be rented.  And you guessed it……..Jamie couldn’t resist and treated everyone to some karaoke!!  Gifts were brought for Jamie and Toni and naturally……everyone hung on each word that Jamie uttered!!!

The final full day in Tokyo was very special.  The Kelleys were invited to the home of the President and CEO of Seiko.  This home was exquisite, located near the Pacific Ocean and sported a 40 foot window that captured the Sunset on the Pacific!!  There were personal pictures displayed of him and James Burton, and pictures of many other American entertainers.  Entertainment for everyone consisted of the band that played for Jamie, using the latest sound equipment and lighting that is continuously set up and included a grand piano, drums, base amp, etc.  The entertainment was recorded for the theirs and the Kelley’s enjoyment.  Fumiko’s description of the evening was summed up as a “priceless experience”!!

Forty guests made up the party and French food was served.  Most whom attended, were Japanese businessmen.  Also present was Japan’s most famous piano player, whom Jamie joined to sing a song and this led to many songs from such artists as Dean Martin, Jim Croce, Ray Charles, etc.  It needs to be noted that this piano player does not do “spontaneous”, so this was quite rare and shows the level of respect that he had for Jamie’s talent!!  BMG has shown it’s support of Jamie’s talent, as has other famous music critics.

So, all in all, this was a great night of music and professional contacts.  Everyone was very impressed with our Jamie!!  The band worked so well together that this group of musicians has decided to form a group of their own and will be Jamie’s band whenever Jamie plays in that part of the world. Other countries that are in Jamie’s future include Thailand, Australia, Singapore, Macau and of course Japan.  As we speak, plans are being formulated for 2008!

So, as the Kelley’s prepare for their trip back to the States, we wish them a safe trip.  They have made beautiful memories that will last them a lifetime.  Boone, Iowa will see their most famous resident return home Sunday, November 18th.
