Legendary
DeeJay Ken Berryhill Features Jamie Aaron Kelley
On Elvis 75th Birthday Tribute Show WRVU
By Barbara
Garton, Jamie Aaron Kelley Fan Club President, Easterners
Sometimes you meet someone either in person or
over the Internet and you immediately are intrigued by this new acquaintance.
This happened to me awhile back when I was searching for a radio show
through which the music of Jamie Aaron Kelley could be shared with the world.
Through a friend of a friend, I found WRVU in
Jamie Aaron Kelley’s rockabilly style music
impressed Mr. Berryhill and it wasn’t long before airtime was given to cuts
from “Sun Also Rises Vol. 2 Memphis Fire” by Jamie and the Dempsey’s.
Then, on the occasion of Elvis’ 75 Birthday, Mr. Berryhill featured
cuts from both “Memphis Fire” and “The Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll”
CDs by Jamie Aaron Kelley. Cuts,
such as “Lovesick Blues”, “Maybelline”, “Tennessee Saturday Night”,
“Tweedle Dee” and “Rag Mop” gave listeners a chance to hear rockabilly
at its best. Rockabilly music
surrounded Elvis in the early days of his career and he produced some of the
greatest rockabilly we have known.
Rounding out the tribute show, Mr. Berryhill
shared with his listeners Jamie’s “Sun Medley” which features Johnny Cash
and Elvis classics. “If You Only
Knew”, “Honky Tonk”, and “The Elvis Medley” were also highlights of
this program. “

Jamie Aaron Kelley and
Friday evening,
Just got
back from Chicago and the Chicago White Sox Elvis Night and it again was a huge
success except for the Sox losing the game to
A huge
crowd was out front for Jamie's first performance of the evening outside of the
Main Gate on stage. They had a great looking backdrop on stage for him
that had a huge 50's looking microphone with the word SOX on it and then the
name ELVIS to the right of it in huge letters as well!
Jamie took
requests at this one, since he knows every song that Elvis ever
sang/recorded/practiced, etc!! The crowd loved it! They yelled up
everything from Old Shep to Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce to standard and
much more! He did a ton of requests and at the autograph/picture break, we
had to announce that time was up and get him back on the microphone because
everybody wanted their picture taken with him and his autograph!
Throughout
the game, just about every inning, the stadium announcer told the crowd about
"international recording artist, Jamie Aaron Kelley will be performing
right after the game". That was cool to hear!
Then Jamie
was escorted inside the US Cellular Field to do the National Anthem.
Cameras put him up on the big Trinitron screen, too.
After the
game, sky divers flew in, a 4 gal Vegas Dancer team performed and then the owner
of the White Sox drove Jamie into the stadium as he started singing the first of
several songs. The crowd of over 40,000 was very reactive, clapping hands
when he told them to and doing various movements like Jamie started doing at
shows years and years ago to the tune of Come On Everybody (just one of the
songs he did).
A huge
fireworks display then went off as Jamie finished his inside the stadium field
performance!
It
was a fantastic night of Elvis music and Jamie performances!!!!

this album to take place in October in
It should be a better
time of season and hopefully not much snow, if any as it is right after
Thanksgiving. And yes, black Friday falls on that day for you travelers
but then the bargains usually aren't that great anyway in the stores as they too
know you expect big savings but they won't want to give too much away. lol
These performances may
also help a local church in their fund raising efforts to build a family fitness
center.
By the way, those with
VIP tickets receive a nice ticket that looks similar to the poster.
General admission is a plain ticket. I tell you this just because I want
to avoid anyone being unhappy because they got a plain ticket and someone else
got one with his picture on it. I know how you are out there!!

JAMIE AARON KELLEY BRINGS HIS MUSICAL MAGIC BACK TO SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY WITH ONE FANTASTIC SHOW
The stage of the Guaracini Fine and Performing Arts Center in Vineland, New Jersey came alive with the sounds of a 'Celebration of Rock & Roll' on May 16, 2009. When Jamie took the stage, the excitement level of the audience reached a fever pitch as he opened with "Memphis in the Meantime" and didn't slow down until after he brought down the house with his "Suspicious Minds"!! One song after another, each delivered as only Jamie knows how rocked the audience. Saturday night saw the debut of "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" and no one in the house could resist becoming part of this piece of musical genius! Chris Casello on guitar, Clay Rigdon on keyboard, Hank Muzney on drums and Mike King on bass with Jamie Aaron Kelley's absolutely incredible vocal, this audience was on its feet!! This was awesome!! When brought back for an encore, he completely brought down the house with his rendition of "Suspicious Minds". Shoulder shakes and moves that defy reason underscored just how world class Jamie is as a performer. Showing his versatility, he treated the audience to his own "For My Heart" with his fantastic falsetto, got down and sexy with "Love Me", became tender with "Keeper of the Key" and drove the crowds crazy with his "Elvis Medley" which rocks with Jailhouse Rock, shows his power with "The Wonder of You" and teases us with a "Let Me Be There". "The Sun Medley" takes us back to an important era in Rock 'n Roll that took place in the wonderful city of Memphis, Tennessee. This show was a true example of the many facets of Jamie Aaron Kelley's magnificent talent. He is by far a quickly rising star on today's music horizon.

AN ART EXHIBIT TEN YEARS IN THE MAKING SAMUEL FORMICA FINDS A USE FOR THOSE OLD CORKS. Philadelphia, PA, June 5, 2009... PINOT, the popular wine accessories superstore in Old City, announces a special exhibition presenting the works of nationally acclaimed painter Samuel J. Formica. The art opening will take place on June 5th the first Friday in June. First Friday in Old City, is a monthly event that takes place on the first Friday of every month, attracting art lovers of all kinds who enjoy the neighborhood's 40-plus galleries. Most of the galleries stay open until 9 p.m.
Formica's work came to prominence in 2003 when his painting Looking to the Future became part of the Ben Franklin Tercentenary Exhibit and was lauded by US presidents, including Bill Clinton, George H.W Bush and Gerald Ford for its powerful depiction of America's history. This stunning painting is on display at the Franklin Institute, and has been published in numerous books and magazines including BenFranklin In Search Of A Better World by Yale University Press. In 2007 Samuel was chosen one of the top 200 painters in America by Kennedy publishing.
On June 5th, PINOT will be sharing another side of Formica's work -- his love of wine. Formica began collecting wine corks ten years ago while working as a bartender at Ristorante Panorama, an Italian restaurant in Philadelphia with a world class wine bar. One day in 2004, he got an idea for a series of wine paintings that would utilize the corks he had collected. The result: LeQuattro Stagione del Vino, four separate paintings depicting the four seasons of wine. Each of the four paintings measures 36" x 64" and is made up of 48 small canvasses. Dense in texture and rich in color his careful composition has led him to international recognition. Eight paintings including the Quattro Stagione series will be on display at Pinot throughout the month of June; this will be the first time in more than ten years that a group of Formica's works has been exhibited. The artist will be signing special limited-edition lithographs prints designed exclusively for PINOT to celebrate their up-coming 3 year anniversary. Wine and cheese will be served.
PINOT is gaining popularity among Philadelphia wine lovers for its wide variety of corkscrews, stemware, wine furniture, one-of-a-kind wine caddies and custom wine cellars-- as the tagline states: "everything but the grape." In 2008 PINOT, located at 227 Market Street, was awarded Philadelphia Magazine's coveted Best of Philly ® award for Best Specialty Shop. PINOT is also home of The Wine School at PINOT, the Old City branch of The Wine School of Philadelphia. For more information, call 215-627-WINE (9463) or visit www.PinotBoutique.com. WISHING EVERYONE A VERY JOYOUS HOLIDAY SEASON!
SEASON'S GREETINGS!!! AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!!!
![]()
The Holiday Season became brighter and merrier at the
Knights of Columbus in Levittown, Pa recently when Elvis (Sammy J, # 1 choice of
the listeners of the Elvis & Friends Radio Show on 98.1 WOGL Philadelphia)
and Patsy Cline (Lisa Lyman, vocalist whose tribute is recognized by the family
of Patsy Cline) and Rockin Ron Cade (Host of the #1 show…Elvis & Friends
98.1 WOGL Philadelphia) joined forces to bring a SOLD OUT, swingin’, rockin’
fun filled evening of Christmas favorites and classic standards to the area.
What an exciting way to fill your heart with Holiday Cheer!!
Sammy J, performing two shows, quickly immersed the
audience into the Christmas songs made famous by Elvis on his first Christmas
album from 1957. From ‘Blue
Christmas’, ‘Santa Claus Is Back In Town’ to ‘White Christmas’, Sammy
J had the crowd singing along with him. These
were sprinkled between Elvis’ classic standards such as ‘Memories’, ‘It
Hurts Me’, ‘One Night’ and ‘Let Yourself Go’, from the ’68 Comeback
Special. ‘Love Me’ brought the
response “We Do!!” from the audience and you could feel that this was true!!
No ’68 Comeback show would be complete without ‘Lawdy, Miss Clawdy’
and ‘Baby What Do You Want Me To Do?’.
‘If I Can Dream’ earned him a standing ovation.
Dressed in the famous black leather suit synonymous with the Comeback
Special, Sammy J thrilled the audience with his famous ‘velvet’ voice!
Rounding out the first show was a fabulous rendition from Sammy
J…..’Lookin’ for Trouble’!!!!
Highlighting the first show was a ‘Don’t Cry
Daddy’ duet sung by Ron Cade and Sammy J!
This brought the crowd to its feet!!
So….for a few minutes…..Ron and Elvis were in the building!!
Following ‘Elvis’ was Patsy Cline!
Lisa Lyman opened with ‘Crazy’, followed by ‘I Go To Pieces’ and
the audience loved it. Lisa has a
very strong voice and matches Patsy’s vocal style perfectly.
Very believable! Getting
into the Christmas Spirit, Lisa included such hits as ‘Santa Baby’, ‘All I
Want For Christmas Is You’ and closed with ‘Jingle Bells’.
A stirring highlight for Lisa was her performance of ‘Ava Maria’ done
in Latin. Very inspiring! Lisa brings her performance right to her audience and
involves them in her songs.
Then, Elvis came back into the building!!! To the notes
of 2001, Sammy J entered in the signature jumpsuit and continued to WOW the
crowd. Taking the audience from
1968 and transporting everyone to the concert years, Sammy J brought down the
house. This time, the Christmas
classics were from Elvis’ ‘70s Christmas Album. Included were ‘Holly Leaves and Christmas Trees’,
‘I’ll Be Home On Christmas Day’, ‘On
A Snowy Christmas Night’, and ‘It Won’t Seem Like Christmas Without
You’. Each song better than the
one before! No way did Sammy J
forget about the classic songs from the concert years.
‘Steamroller Blues’ heated up the room quite nicely!!!
Classic Elvis songs such as ‘Suspicious Minds’, ‘Funny How Time
Slips Away’ and ‘Runaway’ were given full ‘Elvis’ treatment.
One song in particular that struck a beautiful chord with the audience
was a very moving ‘My Way’. Sammy
J chose to include ‘Pieces of My Life’, which he had never done in a show
before. This was a personal favorite and a crowd pleaser.
Lisa and Sammy J teamed up for two Christmas closers
sung as duets. ‘Please Come Home for Christmas’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’.
And Sammy J, noting that we see so many pictures of Elvis in the snow in
Germany during the Army years and when he returned to the States, closed with
‘G I Blues’ complete with a salute at the end.
This was a top rate show. Rockin’ Ron Cade brings the best talent to the Delaware
Valley and the best all Elvis Radio Show to this area for over thirty years now
~ Elvis and Friends. Ron added
Elvis commentary during the show, as only he can, making the show all that more
interesting. Ron Cade IS the
ultimate Elvis authority in the Delaware Valley.
M.C. for the evening and #1 disc jockey was Brooks St. Ives.
Next Ron Cade show will be on February 7, 2009!
Mark the date on your calendar. These
shows are too good to miss!!

same time maintain the style and flavor of rockabilly, country, gospel, rock 'n' roll and of course,
Elvis! Being a magnificently versatile artist, Kelley brought together the beat of the music, the feel
of the music, the visual interpretation of the music and his physical interpretation that we have all
come to love so much. This entertainer can move and move he did!! All aspects of this show came
together perfectly.
Showcasing many songs in medley form, Kelley varied his selected songs with an expertise that only
comes when an artist has found his creative genius! Kelley has done this! Included in the song list
were the two songs that Kelley has written. This again underscores his many talents. "Georgia On
My Mind", "Honky Tonk Song", "Only You" and "Memphis in the Meantime" are just a few examples of
the different styles of music that were included. And, these were spectacular renditions!! Gospel
was represented with "I Shall Not Be Moved" (but everyone was) and "Dig A Little Deeper" giving
everyone a taste of another facet of Kelley's talent. The graphic setting for the Gospel songs was
that of the inside of a southern church....perfect! "In the Ghetto" truly enveloped the audience by
presenting the ghetto graphics in black and white and including the sounds that are part of the
lyrics.
No Kelley show would be complete without the inclusion of Elvis Presley! This time, after a wardrobe
change to a brocade black jacket and textured white shirt, Kelley let loose with all the right moves
and delivered the Elvis Medley (Jailhouse Rock, Teddy Bear, Hound Dog, Burning Love, Wonder of
You and Let Me Be There). For this, the audience went balistic!! After introductions of his fantastic
stage band, orchestra ensemble and backup singers, Kelley tore through a sexy version of "One
Night" and ended with a rendition of "Suspicious Minds" that Elvis himself would have been proud of!!
Ending the show to a standing ovation and holding roses presented by fans, Kelley closed his most
exciting endeavor to date! This show was the culmination of two years of hard work, but all was a
labor of love by Kelley. Bravo!!

It should be noted that Kelley signed autographs, posed for pictures and met with all his fans who
stayed just to spend a few minutes with the superstar of the night!!

Today in Elvis History 40 years ago
June 6, 1968
Ever wonder where the inspiration came from for Elvis to include "If I Can Dream" in the '68 Comeback Special?? According to John Boertlein, in "Today in History Elvis...A daily dose of The King for every Fan & Fanatic", Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy had been shot the day before in San Francisco. Elvis was in rehearsals for his television show, which has become fondly remembered as the '68 Comeback Special, right there in San Francisco. This had been the third assassination in a short period of time and Elvis expressed a heartfelt reaction to the event. Steve Binder, director and producer of the show, asked Earl Brown to compose a song that would reflect Elvis' thoughts and sentiments. Binder is quoted as saying "I wanted to let the world know that here was a guy who was not prejudiced, who was raised in the heart of prejudice, but who was really above all that." From this was born...."If I Can Dream" and it was sung at the closing of the show.
What a memorable event in Elvis history!

Tokyo, Japan Tour #3 Huge
Success for Jamie Aaron Kelley
Japan
Tour #3 is now one for the Jamie Aaron Kelley history book!!
From all accounts, the Tour was a huge success.
May
24th, Jamie attended the Elvis Convention and Movie Festival where he
sang a few songs and met the Japanese Elvis fans.
The venue was packed with over 500 people.
During the intermission of “King Creole” Jamie appeared on the stage.
He was greeted with shouts of “Welcome” that went on for a long
time!! Jamie sang two songs and was
then joined by Fumiko who interviewed him.
Following this, Jamie sang two more songs.
Before he left the stage, the JAK Girls came up on stage and gave Jamie a
huge flower bouquet. This was the
first time that most in the crowd saw Jamie and they were very impressed and
gave him a very positive response.
In true Jamie style, there was an autograph session after this and Fumiko
reported that there was a long line and many surrounded the table because they
were so amazed at Jamie…..so beautiful…young, handsome, generous and a great
personality!!
Following
this, Jamie had the second show at the Ginza Tact which was called “Saturday
Night Live.
Jamie
went on to perform two more shows at the Ginza Tact….Sunday Afternoon
“Rockabilly Afternoon” and Sunday Evening “Request Night”. The
"Rockabilly Afternoon" was a first for the Japanese fans and it was
phenomenal! This time the venue was packed with people mostly in the
twenty to forty age group, showing that Jamie appeals to all ages and brings all
styles of music to his fans.
Monday
was the “Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll Show” at the STB139 Venue where
Jamie has performed the past two years.
This venue is a first class theater restaurant and only features first class
artists. Following
this performance, Jamie again signed autographs for fans.
According to Mark, the show went very well and the audience was a young
audience.
The following day, Jamie attended a concert by Mr. Norio Maeda, who played piano for Jamie last year at the Seiko President’s home where Jamie was a guest at a private party. Mr. Maeda is a world famous pianist. The report from Mark says that it was first class all the way with an all female orchestra in flowing gowns. Mr. Maeda's manager invited Fumiko, Jamie and Mark and they were seated front row center. Before the concert started, Mr. Hattori took Jamie, Mark and Fumiko to greet Mr. Maeda in his dressing room. Quite an honor for them.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Fumiko and Tat Nakajima for all of their time and effort put into making these events a reality. Speaking on behalf of the Easterners, everything you have done and what you will be doing in the future for Jamie is so much appreciated!! Thank you to Mark for sending updates and to Larry for posting the updates online.

FAMOUS OVERTON PARK SHELL IN MEMPHIS
TO OPEN AGAIN WITH LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
The former Overton Park Shell will open September of this year with five weeks of performances. Construction is in the final months and the Shell Organization takes over July 1 and will at that time install the video screens, lighting and sound system.
For the future, the Levitt Pavilion (as it is now known) will feature two seasons of entertainment a year. The first five week period will be in the Spring of 2009, starting in May right after the Memphis City celebration.
The second five week period with five shows a week will begin Labor Day Weekend. The Shell will be what is referred to as ‘Dark’ during the summer months due to the heat usually present in Memphis during the three months of summer.
The final goal is to raise $150,000 to cover additional equipment. The video screens, as one example, will have heavy duty doors on them to protect them during periods when they will not be in use from vandals, damage and weather. One way to raise this additional money would be through the efforts of Elvis Fan Clubs. The Elvis Family of Fans Club, under the leadership of Larry Kelley, has spearheaded drives in the past with concerts to raise money for the Shell. “We are intent on having at least a plaque installed to commemorate the first place Elvis performed as a recording artist along with Scotty and Bill.” Commented Larry Kelley. It is hoped that Elvis Fan Clubs will pick up the torch and actively work together to accomplish what would be a fitting and proper way to honor Memphis’ favorite son!
It should be noted that Jamie Aaron Kelley was honored in 2004 by being the only Elvis performing artist (at that time) invited to do a concert at the Shell on July 30, 2004……50 years after Elvis first performed there.
If your club is interested, contact kingofthehill@mchsi.com
or barbandelvis@comcast.net
“Hopefully, now the new Shell will be enjoyed all over again by the general public and we truly hope the Memphians will support their efforts, as will the Elvis Fans.” Larry Kelley.

Friends of Elvis New Jersey Fan Club Convention
Held in New Egypt, New Jersey
Elvis fans were treated to the musical memories of the 50's, 60's and 70's at this recent Elvis
Convention for the benefit of the local American Legion Post. Memorabilia was available for Elvis
collectors provided by several vendors. Howard Enterprises, with the help
of Zanzibar Entertainment,
once again organized a wonderful convention for Elvis fans. Lori Howard took the stage and delivered a
fabulous "Black Velvet" as her tribute to Elvis. Also, the fans were treated to a singing debut by
Elizabeth Howard. Elizabeth, singing a song from Disney's 'Little Mermaid', gave an awesome
performance! Andrew Howard was the perfect master of ceremonies, as usual!!
Kicking off the show was the fabulous Ray Kaminski with his very special tribute to Roy Orbison.
Ray recreates a nostalgic atmosphere that smoothly leads right into the Elvis entertainers. Ray
gives a performance that is a first class tribute to Orbison. Most audiences have come to expect to
see young Elvises with black slacks and sport coats or concert Elvises fully adorned in jumpsuits to
take the stage and serenade us with Elvis music matching those eras in Elvis' career. Well, this was
not the case with the first performer on this Saturday!!! Ruben Castillo treated the audience with
Soldier Elvis!!! This was Ruben's 'Tribute to Elvis in the Army' and was very appropriate since this
show was for the benefit of the local American Legion. Ruben appeared in a uniform that matched
what Elvis would have worn on a daily basis during his Army days and in his great movie 'G.I. Blues'.
Choosing songs of this era such as 'Such A Night', 'Surrender', 'It's Now or Never', 'Let Yourself Go'
and 'Rock A Hula', Ruben was fantastic. Now, as if this wasn't enough.....he attempted to sing
'Guadalahara.....in Spanish'!!!! Now as they say on American Idol.....'It's all about song choice'!!!
Well..........don't know how to rate this one......but it was very entertaining!! LOL
Mike Marchitto, always elegant, in a white Aloha jumpsuit, gave the audience a full menu of Elvis hits.
From 'I've Got A Woman' to 'Hound Dog' to 'Marie's the Name'.......Mike recreated Elvis as only he
can. 'In the Ghetto' and 'Way Down' were especially well done. On to Paul Aaron, and some
different song choices. 'Impossible Dream' and 'Peace in the Valley' were very nice to hear. His
rendition of 'My Way' was very moving. His white jumpsuit with red jewels and studs was perfect for
his 'American Trilogy'.
The next performer has been absent from the stage for the past year or so, but made a fantastic
'Comeback' right here in New Egypt!!! This was Gene DiNapoli's first show in awhile, but you would
never have guessed it!!! 'Mr. Showman' was back!!!! Gene began his set with a down and bluesy
'Steamroller Blues' and then went looking for 'Trouble'!!!! His black jumpsuit with gold jewels and
trim was perfect. He jokingly said how he had lost some weight........well.....looking good, Gene!!! As
always, the audience can count on Gene's sense of humor to keep things stirred up!!! He decided to
'skip the next song........the pants are too tight!!!'.......that's Gene!!! "Never Been to Spain" was
excellent, as was 'I'll Never Fall in Love Again'. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Gene
tackled "You Gave Me A Mountain" and Gene won!!!! Fantastic rendition! Opening the set up to
requests was a great idea. Someone suggested "Patch It Up" and Gene nailed it, along with "My
Boy". This was done with much feeling. And of course, 'Polk Salad' was requested and Gene
complied................just great! His closing song was a tribute to America's first responders and
military personnel. "America" was presented to the audience with an American Flag as a backdrop.
Gene brought the crowd to their feet. Wonderful!!
Next up was Paul Daniels. In a white jumpsuit with blue phoenix design, Paul also chose a few
seldom done songs. "Susan When She Tries" and "Mr. Songman" were a treat to hear. Paul's
rendition of "Spanish Eyes" was beautiful. Paul's style of singing Elvis is very soothing and very
entertaining. Not one to belt out a hard rockin' Elvis tune, he delights his audience with the softer
side of Elvis.
So, the audience was treated to G.I. Elvis, Concert/Jumpsuit Elvis..............what would be next????
Bring on '68 Comeback Elvis complete with black leather!!!!!! Sammy J brought down the house with
his '68 Elvis!! Sammy's recreation was a crowd pleaser!! From looking for 'Trouble' to 'Can't Help
Falling in Love', Sammy was fabulous. When singing "Love Me Tender", Sammy J greeted all those in
the audience. His warm smile and velvet voice, along with his charm always brings back fond
memories of Elvis doing the same.....connecting with his audience. 'Lawdy, Miss Clawdy' was
terrific! Then....Sammy slid into....'Any way you want to let it roll'.........and he did!!! Rounding out his
set, Sammy J performed a very upbeat, lively rendition of "Where Could I Go But To The Lord".
Sammy J also included the 'Heartbreak Hotel/Hound Dog' medley and 'Jailhouse Rock'. Whenever
Sammy J takes the stage, especially as '68 Comeback Elvis, the audience is treated to a first class
performance......one that does Elvis proud!
All of the ETA's are to be applauded. Everyone did a fantastic job!! Their love and respect for Elvis,
the man and the music, is never ending. Elvis has been gone for thirty years, but his memory will
continue to be enjoyed because of the efforts of these wonderful people. Thanks
to each and every one
of you for loving Elvis!!
And, congratulations are in order for Andrew and Lori Howard as they announced that there will be
an addition to their family this fall. Applause!, Applause!.... also, for their continued hard work in running
the Friends of Elvis Fan Club..............Much Appreciated!!!

RON CADE PRODUCTION BRINGS PATSY CLINE AND ELVIS BACK
"A Touch of Class by Candlelight" was the appropriate location for this top rate music event on Friday, March 14, 2008. This event, for the benefit of the Delran F.O.P. Lodge #230, was well attended with everyone leaving with the feeling that they had just seen and heard Patsy Cline and Elvis Presley. Ron Cade is celebrating 30 years of the "Elvis and Friends Radio Show" with his Elvis and Friends Tribute Concerts. Ron is an Elvis "Authority" in the Philadelphia area, bringing to his show many of Elvis' friends, little known Elvis facts and rare Elvis music, therefore making Sunday mornings a true tribute to Elvis, the man and his music. Friday's tribute show was a credit to Ron and was one unforgettable evening.
Lisa Lyman, acknowledged by the family of Patsy Cline for her wonderful tributes, performed her first set focusing on music of the 50's and 60's. She moved about the audience, involving people in her songs and taking everyone down memory lane. Her second set was a dynamic tribute to Patsy. Singing Patsy's hits, Lisa recreated what it would have been like to see and hear Patsy in person. Her rendition of "Crazy" was right on the mark.......very enjoyable. The audience responded with much applause and many comments were made as to how much she brought back memories of Patsy.
The year was 1968, Elvis was disillusioned with the movie part of his career......enter the "68 Comeback!! Sammy J took command of the stage and brought everyone back to that wonderful moment when Elvis regained his footing and turned his career around. Sammy J is an international Elvis Tribute Artist who comes from Philadelphia, Pa. Sammy J has the unique ability to transform his own persona into that of a memory of Elvis from the 60's and 70's. The '68 Comeback Special is known for the passion with which Elvis delivered his music....the feeling and the emotion. Well, Sammy delivered a stunning performance. Sammy J's "Trouble", "Let Yourself Go" and "Lawdy, Miss Clawdy" were all show favorites. He put everything he had into a fabulous rendition of "If I Can Dream". Asking "Where Can I Go But To The Lord???", Sammy J did a superb job on this gospel classic. As the "Guitar Man", he was very believable. But, delivering "If I Can Dream"......he was priceless. Job very well done!!
For his second set, the audience was treated to an entrance complete with "Also Sprach Zarathustra" and a white beaded and fringed jumpsuit. Taking center stage, Sammy J proceeded to perform an Elvis concert where the audience suddenly came together as one, focusing only on the performer. Sammy J is very much at home interacting with his audience. When strolling through the audience giving out kisses or scarves, Sammy J connects with his fans and they respond with enthusiasm. His first note of "Hurt" was incredible and his encore ending was really great. "Sweet Caroline", "Welcome To My World", "Just Pretend" or "For the Good Times"...it didn't matter...Sammy J's velvet voice was right on the mark. The "Trilogy" with the American Flag behind him was particularly moving. Finishing with "Suspicious Minds", Sammy J ended a performance that did Elvis proud.
A huge "Thank You" is in order to the Delran F.O.P. for organizing such a wonderful evening with good food and wonderful people. Also, Ron Cade is to be congratulated on offering such a fantastic Elvis and Patsy Cline Tribute Show. Congratulations Ron on thirty wonderful, exciting radio years here in the Philadelphia area. And, thank you for loving Elvis!!

DANCING WITH THE STARS ALERT!!!!
PRISCILLA PRESLEY LEAVES WITH STYLE!!
Hello Everyone!
I would like to thank all of you who jumped on board and took this journey with me. Thank you again for all your support, encouragement and well wishes.
You've probably heard through my appearances it was a life changing experience in that I learned so much about myself as far as reaching levels I never thought I could ever attain. At times I felt exposed, vulnerable and filled with anxiety. Frustration with myself was a daily bout. But when I put all in perspective…the conclusion is…we were all desperately trying to learn years of training in four and a half days. To learn different styles of dances and their difference in techniques, approach and attitude and look like a professional. Quite a task. I applaud all the wonderful talent I met on the show. I feel I came out a winner in that I met so many people who I probably would never have crossed paths with.
My only regret? I wish I could have danced the faster numbers sooner. We were given the slower and more romantic styles. The only fast dance I had was my second dance the Mambo. This week was going to be the start of all the Latin dances i.e. Samba, Cha Cha, Paso Double, etc.
All that said, I had a great time and would do it all again and I recommend all of you to take on a challenge or something you have always wanted to do and jump in heart and soul. It doesn't matter what people say or think. It is for you…to grow and excel.
Thank you my friends.

JAMIE AARON KELLEY ANOTHER AWESOME PERFORMANCE!!!!!
Boone, Iowa
On Saturday, January 26th , Jamie again proved beyond a doubt that
he truly is the “Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll”. To the delight of
this audience, he performed songs from two of his CDs, along with
some Elvis. Our Honorary Easterner, Cindi Sissel, was one of
the lucky ones and got to see the show in person….even getting the
song list signed by Jamie and Hank. Fernette Flowers also attended.

Jamie Aaron Kelley - Rockabilly Good time
Saturday January 26, 2008 Boone, Iowa
The concert was pure Jamie Magic. There were approximately 400 people at the show in the Boone High School Auditorium, just about capacity!!
Before the show started there was a short video from back stage at Harrah's and Canadian TV. Boy did the video bring back memories!! There were cuts from Jail
House Rock, If I could Dream, ‘68 Comeback Special, Jamie getting make-up on, and fans getting autographs.
The new "JAK" logo was in the Drums, Bass and in the background. It is a very classy look.
Out comes Jamie singing Your Mine Tonight and the crowd (yes me especially) started yelling. Jamie looked and sounded SO FINE. For those of you lucky enough to go to Memphis, he did several of the same songs, including his own song "For My Heart", the
Johnny Cash Medley, Fool, Fool, Fool, Always Late, and Your So Fine. Rose Sargent's birthday was Monday, a long time Jamie fan, and Jamie dedicated the song
You're So Fine to her. For those of you who have not seen Jamie do this song, Jamie drops to his knees, and leans clear back to the floor. The ladies love this.
He said this was one of his favorites to do. I said semi-softly "mine too" and he said I heard that. I said I meant it and Jamie laughed.
Jamie did a three song encore and we were still yelling for more. The final song was That's Alright Mama.
At one point in the show Jamie stopped to tell us how much he appreciated growing up in Iowa. That it grounded him and he was glad to be back in his home town to do this show.
The band was a new group for Jamie. There was Hank the drummer Jamie has worked with for at least 4 years. Hank is from Jefferson, Iowa just a short distance from Boone. The guitar and bass player might have been new to the group, but they all sounded like
they had been playing together for years.
Jamie was on stage for about an hour and a half. The time flew by and we all went to get autographs and photos. Jamie was his usual self taking time to speak
to each person in line and making each one feel like they were the most important fan he had.
I feel truly fortunate to have been able to see this show and to report for the Easterner's.
Cindi Sissel
====
WOW!? JAMIE performed another GREAT show last night in his hometown, of Boone, IA!
Highlighting songs from his two "The Sun Also Rises," albums and a couple of Elvis medleys, JAMIE rocked!
Among my favorites were My Babe, You're So Fine, and the opening number, You're Mine Tonight!? ...AHHHHHHH...Dream River was pretty darn cool also!? WooHoo!!!? As usual, time seemed to fly by (as it always does when we are at a JAMIE show), and it was over much too soon.
There were a lot of Jamie friends and fans I got to see again, however...missed those who were unable to be there!? Maybe next time...
Have a GREAT Sunday and remember, keep on
TCE/JAK With TLC Always!

GUESS WHO?

JAMIE AARON KELLEY EASTERNERS
AND SHOWBOAT…….A PERFECT COMBINATION
Atlantic City will always be very special to the group of folks who met on Saturday, November 3, 2007. This group met and fell in love with the talent and charisma of Jamie Aaron Kelley at Harrah’s as the star of “Elvis Story”. So, Atlantic City is the logical place to meet. We come from Southern New Jersey, Middle New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania just to support Jamie. Our ‘honorary’ Easterner Cindi from Iowa again made the trip…..now that’s a fan! November 3rd was chosen this time to coincide with Jamie’s arrival in Tokyo, Japan for his second tour. The management of the Mansion Café has been delighted to accommodate us!!! The manager remembers Jamie from when he was in AC in 2005.
This Get-Together was special in that we celebrated Jamie’s second Japan tour and his upcoming fourth appearance in Clear Lake, Iowa with his Christmas Show. The highlight of the evening was “JAMIE BINGO”! Instead of the usual boring bingo style, we used J-A-M-I-E across the top of the cards and we made our own cards using all things related to Jamie. Some of the related things were: Boone, Superman, 2/16/80, Memphis Fire, EP Delta Kitchen, and so on. The prizes were fantastic thanks to Larry and the Jamie Archives! There were door prizes also.
Special guest of the evening was “Philly Carol”. She is a radio personality at 92.1 FM here in South Jersey. When Jamie was in Atlantic City this past July, Carol did a wonderful one hour, live, interview during which Jamie answered questions about his career, callers called in with requests/questions and Jamie’s music was played. She has become a “fan” and supporter of Jamie and we will be able to count on her when Jamie brings his show to Atlantic City in the future.
Everyone took the time to write a special Christmas message to Jamie. These were presented to Jamie in a huge Christmas Card that Barbara brought to Clear Lake with her. Also, a group photo was taken and presented to Jamie from his “Easterners”. There were also several members present who traveled to Memphis to support Jamie at the EP Delta Kitchen on Beale Street during Elvis Week 2007 and, of course, to enjoy the 30th Anniversary Week for Elvis!!!! Elvis everyday….Jamie every night!!! It doesn’t get any better than that!!!
Dessert was certainly a highlight! Our cake was themed “Superman” and we all know why! Everyone also received a fall pumpkin lollipop with a beautiful brown ribbon that read “JAK Fan Club…November 3, 2007” in gold. There was a display of photos taken during the Kelley’s visit in July, including those of Jamie and Larry in Philadelphia and Millville.
So, after seeing friends again, spending time reminiscing about Elvis Week, going over memories of “Elvis Story”, and having a few good laughs…it was over until next time!

JAMIE AARON KELLEY’S SHOW ON BEALE STREET
CONTRIBUTES TO HOTTEST ELVIS WEEK EVER!!!!!
This was the hottest Elvis Week on record and all you had to do was visit the E.P. Delta Kitchen to find out who was heating everything up!!! Jamie Aaron Kelley performed ten shows during Elvis Week and each one set Memphis on fire!

With the talented band pictured here, Jamie thrilled each audience with incredible renditions of songs made famous by Elvis and songs done in Jamie’s own signature style. His connection with the audience is so evident……each is enjoying the other and having fun. Some noteworthy guests included: James Burton, Larry Geller, Bob Moore, June Juanico, Mr. Lansky and Joe Esposito. Folks from many countries around the world attended these shows. By closing night, a line had formed down the block, but the show was sold out!! At the final show, Jamie was presented a beautiful award by Garry Goin, Club Manager, on behalf of the E.P. Delta Kitchen and Mr. Ishii, Club Owner. Congratulations to Jamie and to all those who worked so hard every night to bring this incredible show to all those who attended. Special recognition goes to Tat and Fumiko Nakajima for all their efforts in bringing this all together.

Jamie is certainly the “The Ambassador of Great Music” as this wonderful award says. His second tour of Japan is set for November 2007 and his annual Christmas Show will again be in Clear Lake, Iowa on November 30 and December 1, 2007.

At The Mansion Café, Showboat Casino
Hotel
Jamie Aaron Kelley, The Heart & Soul of Rock ‘n Roll, and his manager Larry Kelley were recently the guests of honor at a dinner/reception hosted by the Jamie Aaron Kelley Fan Club Easterners. Fan club members from as far away as Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and of course New Jersey attended. An “honorary” Easterner attended from Mr. Kelley’s home state of Iowa.
Mr.
Kelley was in the area on a business trip that centered around his new show
“The Heart & Soul of Rock ‘n Roll”.
This new show has been to Japan and Canada playing to rave reviews and
sold out performances. It will
return to Tokyo, Japan this November. Mr.
Kelley was the hottest ticket in Atlantic City during the summer of 2005, as the
star of “Elvis Story” at the Harrah’s Casino Hotel.
His incredible portrayal of Elvis Presley earned him sold out venues for
three months and the following of many, many fans. These fans were present to show Mr. Kelley their fan loyalty,
two years later! Everyone had the
opportunity to view Jamie’s performance in Tokyo, via DVD.
There were souvenirs, an Elvis and a Jamie trivia quiz with prizes and
most of all…time to spend with Jamie.
A
great time was had by all! Everyone
received a Jamie Photo Pop with a picture of Jamie promoting the Reese’s
Limited Edition Peanut Butter and Banana Cups.
Also, everyone received a Reese’s peanut butter and banana cups to
sample and take home. Dessert was a
cake commemorating Jamie’s new show “The Heart and Soul of Rock ‘n
Roll”. Jamie is currently
preparing for his Memphis Tour that will take place
during Elvis 30th Anniversary Tribute Week, August 11 through
17th. He will be
performing ten shows at the EP Delta Kitchen and Bar on Beale Street in downtown
Memphis. Also, the Friday night
before this, he will be performing at “Elvis Night at the Ballpark” for the
Chicago White Sox. This is a return
engagement for Mr. Kelley.
Everyone
hopes that Mr. Kelley will return to Atlantic City with his show which is a
perfect combination of country, rockabilly, rock ‘n roll and of course Elvis
style music done with a natural feel and flare!
